The Experience
Being a Gang Specialist is no longer a "Law Enforcement Only" speciality. The 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment estimated 33,000 gangs representing some 1.4 million “documented” gang members were reported by law enforcement agencies in the United States. Gangs can now be identified in all 50 states and D.C. with a national average of 48% of all violent crime being attributed to criminal street gangs with that percentage reaching as high as 90% in several cities nationwide.
Anyone who may come in direct contact with this gang threat needs to specialize in that threat and proper training for Private Security Professionals is necessary for any gang reduction strategy to work and it is imperative that security personnel are trained, prepared and equipped to be on the front lines as you very well may make initial contact with a gang member long before law enforcement are called. You are charged with securing and protecting private and public assets, venues, hospitals, malls, and the persons who visit them. It is vital for you to have the knowledge necessary to provide public and private safety. This is why we have gone against the norm and designed a law enforcement level training program for private security personnel.
This training does not look like a generic training typically delivered to civilians. You deserve the same professional level training as we deliver to law enforcement and we are committed to providing a highly interactive and personalized learning experience never before available to you. Final Exam Protocols
Exam Pass Guarantee: We do offer an exam pass guarantee which states if you take and complete the entire certification course and do not pass the final exam, you will get another single attempt on us.
Final Exam Details: The Exam is graded on a pass/fail system by obtaining a 90% or better is considered a passing grade. The exam is taken online at the convenience of your home or office. It is a closed book exam and is 50 questions with 5 bonus questions. The questions are in a true/false, multiple-choice & scenario-based format. You must pass the final exam with a 90% or better to receive your CBGS designation.
Recertification: Certification is good for 2-years and must be recertified.

Do you offer payment options?

When will I get access?
Upon enrolling in an on-demand course, you will be emailed a Student Information Form. Once we confirm your information, you will be granted access to our on-demand training platform ,via email. Please allow 24 hours for your access to be approved.
Can I watch the training at my own pace?
Yes. You will have the ability to play, and pause, the course so that you can watch at your own pace. (Certifications & Academy does have some weekly structure to follow but you will still have on demand capabilities.)
How long will I have to complete the course?
After your enrollment has been approved, you will have access to the course till you complete it. (Certifications & Academy are timed and have their own access schedule)
Are the courses for law enforcement only?
Yes. We offer training for three security levels (SL1, SL2, SL3), which include active duty criminal justice professionals, private security civilians who have a direct need, due to their employment, i.e., counselors, teachers, etc.

Security Levels

Level 1
SL1: Civilians who are in the private sector such as those working in the school system, prevention, intervention and rehabilitation programs, counselors, etc.

Level 2
SL2: Personnel who are in the private security, executive protection and bondsmen industry, i.e., Security Officers, Executive Protection Agents, Bondsmen, etc.

Level 3
SL3: Personnel who are employed by a local, state, federal, or international government agency or U.S. Military; who are considered active duty Law Enforcement, Corrections, Probation, Juvenile Justice or Intelligence Analysts.

Level 4
SL4: Personnel who are current members of Gang Enforcement's Black Team One (BT1) . This does not include past members who no longer have an active membership call sign.
